According to the all daily newspapers, in yesterday’s meeting of Austrian chancellor Viktor Klima with Macedonian premier Lubco Georgievski, the Austrian chancellor said that Austria will except another 5.000 kosovar refugees and also will help in improvement of infrastructure of existing camps. He also said that he would make more pressure to the other members of European Union, to except kosovar refugees.

NUMBER OF REFUGEES

According to all the daily newspapers, starting from yesterday began settling of refugees in the new camp Cegrane and according to the sources of newspaper Nova Makedonija, 2.300 refugees from Kosovo are settled there. While according to the daily newspaper Vecer, even that the authorities of UNHCR said that the camp is not completed to except refugees, from sources of this newspaper, from yesterday began settling of refugees in the new camp that are coming from borders of Bllace and Jazhince. Also, according to this newspaper, the minister for urban planning and construction, Dushko Kadievski, emphasis that the ground in camp Cegrane is completely cleaned and 550 canopy are placed, while 1.550 canopy are expected to be pitched, so this camp will except more 1.400 refugees.

According to the all daily newspaper, in yesterday’s UNHCR press conference, spokesman Paula Gedhini, stressed that the number of camps should be increased, or the capacity of the existing camps should be enlarged, because about 6.000 or 8.000 refugees from Kosovo and about 10.000 from other places of Yugoslavia are on the way to Macedonia.

THE NUMBER OF REFUGEES

According to the daily newspaper Makedonija Denes, and the latest information from the Ministry of Interior, the day before yesterday, 5.138 residents of Yugoslavia came in Macedonia. According to this, the total number of kosovar refugees more then 194.000. Also, illegally, 502 refugees entered Macedonia. They have been settled in camp Stenkovec, where totals of 54.363 refugees are settled.

According to the daily newspaper Vecer, from the "Skopje" airport, until three o’clock, five airplanes with 719 refugees flight: for Oslo 159, for France 145, for Britain 150 and for Austria 160. For afternoon are planned two flights for Turkey and Belgium with 260 refugees.

According to the daily newspaper Dnevnik, that is referring to the Ministry of Interior, yesterday in the borderland Bllace 30 people came in Macedonia in illegal way, while two of them died and 10 were wounded when they stepped in minefield activating one ore more bursting mine.

According to the daily newspaper Flaka, from several countries is coming aid for kosovar refugees, like France, Russia and Ireland. This aid includes foods, clothes, tents, blankets etc. Also according to Flaka, the famous American actor Pole Newman gave 250.000 dollars for helping kosovar refugees. According to HO "El Hilall", branch in Debar, and this organization furnished 670 kosovar families with humanitarian aids. This organization stresses that they had help from a lot of organizations but especially from the "Mercy Corps International" from USA.

According, to the daily newspaper Makedonija Denes, The American Red Cross will help the kosovar refugees, with about 10 million dollars, claimed the president of the American Red Cross, Steve Bulldock.

According to the daily newspaper Makedonija Denes, in camp Stenkovec 2, in Saturday will began the vaccination of refugee children smaller than four years old. In camp Stenkovec 1, about 2.000 children have been vaccinated, but their number is about 5.200. They are vaccinated against tuberculosis, poliomyelitis, rubella and other diseases. The vaccination of children in other camps around the Macedonia is to beontinued.
