SECURITY SITUATION

Today morning, some convoys with German, English and Spanish soldiers entered Macedonia in Macedonian-Greek border, in the borderland of Bogorodica. 236 transporters with engineering technique and logistic back up and also with 800 soldiers has passed this border and entered Macedonia. The final destinations of these NATO forces are Krivollak, Petrovec and Skopje.

THE NUMBER OF REFUGEES

Yesterday for the first time the organized repatriation of refugees in Kosovo began. So, yesterday 350 refugees from camps Stenkovec 1 and 2 were transported to Prishtina, while 390 refugees were planned to be transferred. Today the returning of 400 refugees is planned, from camps Stenkovec 1 and 2, Bojane and Radusa. At the same time when the UNHCR organized return of refugees, a part of refugees are still leaving Macedonia by their own will. So, daily about 10.000 refugees are leaving Macedonia.

According to the UNHCR at this moment, in Macedonia 33.000 refugees are settled in camps, while 34.000 refugees are settled in families. Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVR) claims that it’s difficult to determine the real number of refugees that are settled in families, because the large number of refugees that leave Macedonia do not left the green card, that is the certificate for the status of humanitarian cared person. They estimate that in families are settled more than 50.000, while in camps are settled about 40.000 refugees.

CAMPS

The camps in Macedonia began to empty. In camp of Radusa now we can see just the repercusions of their presence there. Some of the refugees that are settled in this camp are returning with their own will, while others are waiting for the organized return by the UNHCR.
