SECURITY SITUATION
With the motto "For Macedonia", yesterday evening in the downtown of Skopje at the "Makedonija" square a protest has been hold, organized by the biggest opposition party SDSM, in which some smaller parties took participation. Many citizens from Skopje and around Maceodonia came in the protests. The president of SDSM Branko Crvenkovski, stressed that this was the biggest meeting ever organized in Macedonia. Also, some members of other parties spoke to the crowd. The protest ended peacefully and without problems.
THE REFUGEE NUMBER
The spokesman of UNHCR, Mihiko Shinohara, declared that until now about 95.000 refugees have left Macedonia and went to Kosovo. This number is increasing, so about 10.000 persons every day leave Macedonia and go to Kosovo. There will be organized return of refugees only in the towns Uroshevac, Prizren and Prishtina. In other towns the refugees will be returned after the KFOR forces provide the conditions. The airlift for transfer of refugees that are settled in Macedonia, in the third countries, will be forbidden from the beginning of June. The intensity of transfer is decreasing, so the day before yesterday, only 100 persons that needed medical care were transferred in the third countries.
CAMPS
The UNHCR in cooperation with OSCE and CARE had made a registration of the refugees from Kosovo. The registration first began in camps, and than continued with the refugees that are settled in the families. All these refugees got a green card with their photo, while the photos of the children smaller then 18 years are fixed into the green cards of their parents.
Yesterday the children of the refugee camp Bojane had a six hour party with the volunteers of the caravan of enjoyment. The volunteers had a lot of playing staffs like chess, domino, synthesizers etc.
SUPPORT
According to the daily newspaper Fakti, the humanitarian organization AAR from Japan helps the families with children that are settled in Kicevo. 200.000 children settled in Kicevo are taking aid from this organization in food, clothes and other sanitation products. This is the third aid given by this humanitarian organization. The representatives of this organization stressed that they will also begin to deliver aid in Kosovo.
According to the daily newspaper Veçer, all the refugee children that are going home and that have chronicle disease, will take a 30 days therapy in the coming days. As the vice-minister of health Muharem Nexhipi declared, this is part of the aid that has been given to the refugees.
The Ministry for Health in cooperation with UNICEF and WHO will organize a project for the traumatized refugee children, and other. Psychologists, dermatologists and psychiatrists will constitute the professional team that will work with these kids.
4.000 families (about 40.000 refugees) from Skopje, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Kiçevo, that have except refugees, got aid - pockets with essential food and hygienically products for one month. The aid is arriving from H.O. ADRA - from Germany.
