SECURITY SITUATION
Three persons were injured in a bomb explosion in Cvetan Dimov Street near to the Yaya Pasha mosque in Skopje, yesterday about 13.30 o’clock. Eyewitnesses say that bomb was left near to a car and it was activated when one of injuries stepped on it.
NUMBER OF REFUGEES
According to Ministry of Interior (MVR), in the last 24 hours, 2.659 refugees entered Macedonia, while 2.424 of them entered in borderland Bllace and also 82 illegal entrance were registered. The total number of refugees in Macedonia now is 227.411, while 131.410 of them have the status of humanitarian cared person. 78.294 refugees have been settled in camps and 119.117 in families. Now the biggest camp is Cegrane with 31.976 refugees, while 30.609 have been settled in Stenkovec.
Yesterday, until 15 o’clock, 995 refugees were transferred to third countries using airlift. Up to now, 58.287 refugees left Macedonia using airlift.
CAMPS
According to the daily newspaper Flaka, 2.627 refugees came in camp Senokose, so that total number of refugees in this camp is 4.712.
According to the daily newspaper Fakti, in camp Stenkovec 2 an elementary school named "Kosovo is waiting for us" is functioning with 867 pupils.
SUPPORT
The UN Secretary general, Kofi Anan yesterday visited Macedonia, and during that he visited refugee camp Stenkovec. He stressed his hope that by the end of winter all the conditions for returning back refugees to their homes will be fulfilled. Hi also met Macedonian leadership.
Group for protection of human rights form London, Amnesty International, yesterday accused Macedonian police for violation of international laws for refugees and also they say that Macedonian police humiliated refugees that are flight form Serbian repression.
According to Dnevnik, AIDS tests are made just to the refugees that were transported to third countries. Up to now no cases of refugees that suffers from this diseases have been detected neither those that have HIV virus. Up to now, free preservatives, as a protection measure, have not been delivered in camps.
According to the daily newspaper Dnevnik, Ministry of health this hasn’t got promised 800.000 US dollars from UNHCR. Monthly expenditures of this ministry for refugees are about 4 million German marks.
According to the daily newspapers Dnevnik, vaccination of refugee kids smaller than 4-years old that are settled in families began. Against contagious diseases, first will be vaccinated the refugee kids that are settled in Skopje than the process will continue in the other cities.
