SECURITY SITUATION
Yesterday a Russian convoy consists of 124 vehicles with military technique, logistic equipment and militant transporters has passed through the Bogorodica border. Russian ambassador in Macedonia Pjotar Dobroserdov welcomed the convoy. This convoy is a part of three Russian convoys of KFOR forces for Kosovo. Yesterday also through this border has passed a convoy consist of 91 vehicles and 183 Italian soldiers and a convoy consist of 30 vehicles and 80 American marines. They all together went to the Yugoslav border.
NUMBER OF REFUGEES
In the government press conference, the minister for social works Bedredin Ibraimi, have mostly talked about the refugee problem. He stressed that the large part of refugees has left Macedonia and went to their homes and now in camps around Macedonia is settled just about 8.000 persons. But, there is a part of refugees that are coming from the south parts of Serbia and can not go to their homes. So, the UNHCR want to build a barracks for these refugees.
In the last 24 hours 1540 refugees have left Macedonia and went to Kosovo, while 157 persons have entered Macedonia.
CAMPS
Momentary in four camps, Bojane, Çegrane, Senokos and Stenkovec 2 are settled about 7.800 persons. According to the premonition of High commissioner for refugees, more than 20.000 humanitarian cared persons, gypsies and Albanians, can stay in Macedonia three months more.
SUPPORT
From yesterday has begun the process of returning the refugees from third countries through the Petrovec airport. Through Macedonia, from seven states 3809 persons have been repatriated to Kosovo, such as Turkey, Germany, USA, Australia, Italy, Austria and Hungary. Through Skopje airport in the coming days about 1.000 refugees will be repatriated. The International organization for migration and the High commissioner for refugees will supervise the return of refugees.
Even that the large part of refugees have been returned to their homes the humanitarian organization "Light" from Debar is giving help to the small part of refugees that are still settled in this town. This aid is coming from humanitarian association ICNA - RELEP from USA and Canada.
