SECURITY SITUATION

During the night and the morning, from the borderland Bogorodica, in the Macedonian-Greek border, tens of convoys of KFOR forces entered Macedonia, and then they will go to Kosovo. It’s about more than 600 easy and heavy carriage means, loaded with heavy weapons and also with logistic and engineering support. This means are accompanied by more than 1.000 NATO soldiers from USA, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Dutch.

NUMBER OF REFUGEES

According to the data of Operative staff of the ministry of Interior (MVR), the day before yesterday 5.500 persons left Macedonia and went to Kosovo, while about 3.000 have entered Macedonia. In this moment about 18.000 registered humanitarian cared persons are settled in Macedonia, 9.000 of them are settled in camps. According to the UNHCR all the refugee camps until the beginning of next month will be closed, while the Neproshteno camp will be closed the last. All the refugees that are coming from the parts that are not safe for return and also all the refugees that for many reasons have no place to go, will be settled in this camp.

 

CAMPS

The Neproshteno camp that will be closed the last slowly is emptying from his resident. Even that some refugees have no place for return they want to go to their land. But, in this camp will be settled the refugees from the camps that will be closed. So, the preparation of conditions for excepting these refugees has begun. The cleaning and the adaptation of the camp for excepting the refugees have also began

 

SUPPORT

The first plane, with refugees from Germany, that have to go back in Kosovo, today should arrive in Skopje airport "Petrovec". They will be accompanied by the police and sent to the border. In the border, accompanied by the KFOR forces they will continue the road to their homes in Kosovo. The intensity of return will depend mostly from the possibilities of the Skopje airport. Using airlift the day before yesterday 532 refugees from Italy, were repatriated in Kosovo. As the daily newspaper "Dnevnik" writes the government will permit the airport of Skopje to be used for the return of 70.000 refugees that have been evacuated from Macedonia to third countries using airlift.

For the treatment of the kosovar refugees, from the beginning of the crisis until the end of the past month, according to the accounting of UNHCR, Macedonian Ministry of Health has paid 4.210.700 dollars. For the same reasons is estimated that the Ministry of Health, until the end of the year has to divide 2.460.000 dollars. The found got only 800.000 dollars as help, while they are talking with the European Union for an aid in amount of 24 million Euro.
